Fourth Grade Program

California quadrangle and tower

We offer your fourth grade class or classes opportunity to see and experience:

  • The history of the Spanish explorers
  • The founder of the first California Mission
  • The artists who recorded the era
  • The Casa de Balboa
  • El Cid, Rodrigo Diaz, in the Panama Plaza

The program begins with a 25 to 30 minute slide talk given at your school to one or two 4th grade classes.

Your arrival at Balboa Park will be on a Monday after the optional slide talk on Spanish Colonial Architecture.

You will be met by your Student Tour Guides and may be divided into small groups by your teachers. Parent participation is encouraged.

The two-hour tour includes an opportunity for the students to have their pictures taken, standing on the stage of the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park.
